Our Doctors
Dr. Shilpi Pradhan
Dr. Shilpi Pradhan is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cornea specialist, dedicated to providing comprehensive care through the latest medical knowledge and a compassionate approach. With extensive surgical experience, she excels in delivering complete eye care, performing complex cataract surgeries, and addressing a range of corneal issues.
A cornea specialist undergoes rigorous training, having completed an additional year of training in cornea transplantation, including clinical and surgical training in all cornea diseases, after completing a three-year ophthalmology residency, a one-year medical internship, and four years of medical school and four years of college.
Originally from Virginia, Dr. Pradhan’s roots trace back to Bluefield, VA, and Bluefield, WV. She graduated from The Madeira School in McLean, VA, and subsequently completed her internship at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke (2004-2005) and her residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond (2005-2008). Her Cornea Fellowship was at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (2008-2009). In 2012, she returned to Virginia with her family to establish their permanent home. She lives with her husband and their four children.
In October 2015, Dr. Pradhan founded Eye Doctor MD PC, a practice committed to serving the greater Richmond community.

Dr. Samita Sally Goyal
Dr. Samita Sally Goyal is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who specializes in traumatic and oncologic reconstructive microsurgery, breast reconstruction, abdominal wall reconstruction, and lower extremity reconstruction. She also has a keen interest in nutritional health to help heal the body and is trained in aesthetic surgery. She founded RVA Plastic Surgery in 2020 and loves working in the Richmond area.

“I have worn glasses for 64 years, and my eyesight was to the point that I needed glasses to find my glasses if they were not on my head. Dr. Pradhan did not promise success, but hope to eliminate the need to wear glasses all the time, and my expectations were MUCH exceeded. The first procedure was on each eye to remove callouses (sp?) on both eyes and to help the new lens fit properly. Also to maybe help the astigmatism. The second surgeries were for the cataracts. I now, after 64 years, am able to see totally TOTALLY TOTALLY without the benefit of glasses. I do use reading glasses to read small print, and since I live on the computer when not working, to relieve some eye strain from reading all day.
